Over the course of this three-day workshop you will learn how to create a teacher class Web site using Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. These three programs were designed by Macromedia® (now Adobe® Systems Incorporated) to work seamlessly together in commercial design and production environments. They are all full featured, industrial strength applications that can handle both novice and professional needs, alike.
Step-by-Step Guide (.pdf 14.9 MB)
Instructor PowerPoint Presentation (.ppt 5.8 MB)
OS X Disk Image of CD Resource Files (.dmg 37.8 MB) mac only!
PC Windows Zip Archive of CD Resource Files (TBA)
A proof of concept Web site created during the workshops can be found here.
You will be exposed to a variety of skills and concepts over the next few days. First, you will become familiar with common terminology and fundamental principles of Web design in advance of using Dreamweaver to create a basic Web page with hyperlinks, text and graphics. On day two you will use Fireworks to create rollover buttons and a Web banner for your developing Web site. Finally, on day three you will examine features of Flash, a program you will use to create an animated graphic banner and vector-based artwork that will enhance your site’s design. By the end of the course, you should have a working knowledge of how to design and maintain a basic Web site to disseminate information to parents and students.
Note: Participants should feel comfortable working in the OS X environment on a Macintosh computer and possess fairly strong word processing skills. It is also helpful if participants know how to access their eBackpack account and are comfortable with basic file management.
